Garlic update

I’ve harvested my garlic and it’s a tasty crop! I pulled up about 15 heads, some small and some quite big, which all together weighed roughly 1kg.
The garlic is crisp, juicy and potent…yum. I planted the cloves back in April, so here in Sydney they are fairly slow growing but a good crop to put in over winter if you don’t want to do much gardening.
At the time I was pregnant so couldn’t spend much time in the garden bending over because of my ever-expanding belly and bad back. So this crop was perfect.
At the moment all the heads are drying on my back porch, waiting to be eaten. But I will save some for next year’s crop because I want to grow more next time.

I won’t be harvesting garlic for months. The plants are just babies here in north Texas. I love reading about our different planting and harvesting seasons.
